This course gives guidance on how the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013 (RIDDOR) apply to the health and social care sector. It is aimed at employers and others in health and social care, who have a duty to report under RIDDOR.

This course aims to help learners understand how the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013 (RIDDOR) apply to the health and social care sector.

Objectives

  • To raise awareness of employers and others in health and social care, who have a duty to report under RIDDOR.
  • To understand accident categories.
  • To understand which injuries diseases and dangerous occurrences need to be reported, including where and how they should be reported.
  • To understand the correct processes for waste management.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this module you will understand how to categorise an accident, which injuries, diseases and dangerous occurrences must be reported and where to record and/or report those injuries, diseases and dangerous occurrences. You will also understand the importance of PAT testing and who should perform it and the correct processes and procedure for safe waste management and handling.
