This recorded webinar will give an overview of the evidence base for water fluoridation, the why and how to engage with the public consultation.

To raise awareness of community water fluoridation as an effective public health measure.

Objectives

During this course learners will be able to

  • Understand the evidence base
  • Be aware of the oral health need and potential impact of CWF (community water fluoridation) on oral health in the NE 
  • Be aware of the public consultation and how everyone can participate
  • Understand how dental team members can advocate for fluoridation and what unified messages we can use

Learning Outcomes

After completing this course, the learner will gain an understanding of how to:

  • Interpret the evidence base supporting community water fluoridation (CWF) as an effective public health measure.
  • Recognise the oral health needs and potential impact of CWF on oral health specifically in the NE region.
  • Engage in the public consultation process and actively participate in advocating for CWF initiatives.
  • Collaborate with dental team members to effectively advocate for CWF, utilising unified messages to communicate the benefits of fluoridation.
