This course aims to provide learners with knowledge and understanding around the NHS dental contract changes announced in July 2022 and focuses on promoting more effective use of skill-mix.

  • Understand what the legislation is around direct access and skill mix, and how the Phase 1 DSR changes support a wider use of skill mix. 
  • To be aware of the NHSE skill mix guidance. 
  • To gain better understanding of vicarious liability, and PGDs.
  • To learn how dental teams have worked effectively within current arrangements and potential ways in which teams might use the freedoms which exist.
