Tri-morbidity: Dental Management of People who Experience Homelessness.

This is the second recorded webinar in the series 'Dentistry for the Homeless'.

People who experience homelessness often have complex co-morbidities such as mental health and addictions that impact dental care. Using examples we will learn how to safely provide dental care for these patients.

 

Aims

This course aims to provide learners with knowledge and understanding of people who experience homelessness, who may often have complex co-morbidities such as mental health problems and addictions which impact dental care.

Objectives

During this course learners will be able to:

  • Understand the term tri-morbidity relating to homelessness.
  • Understand how to manage people who experience homelessness in a dental setting.
  • Outline the management of addictions and mental health in relation to dental care, using case examples.

Learning Outcomes

After completing this course the learner will gain an understanding of:

  • How to provide safe dental care to people who experience homelessness.
