Research shows that small, intentional shifts in language during dental care can make a significant difference to patient comfort, confidence and perceived pain, while also reducing stress for the dental team. Following the recent publication of “Procedural Hypnosis: A Powerful Tool for Reducing Stress, Anxiety and Pain”, questions have been raised about how these approaches can be used effectively in routine daily practice. This recorded webinar offers clear answers, practical phrasing strategies, and evidence-based guidance on using focused-attention and rapport techniques chairside.

We will explore how procedural hypnosis differs from traditional hypnosis, how to use rapid hypnotic language during routine procedures, and how to support patients in managing anxiety through simple self-guided cues. The session highlights how a whole-team communication approach can create calmer appointments, smoother workflow and a reduced emotional load for clinicians. These techniques can fit within normal appointment times—they are accessible, learnable and immediately useful in everyday dentistry.

This webinar aims to introduce dental teams to practical communication and focused-attention techniques that reduce patient anxiety and discomfort, support clinical efficiency, and enhance confidence and wellbeing for both patients and practitioners.
