P399 A Review of Common Oral Medicine Conditions in Children

Speaker:Ms Jasmine Cachia Mintoff

  • About This Course

In collaboration with the College of General Dentistry.

GDPs are the first line for seeing and diagnosing conditions in the oral cavities. Soft tissue anomalies are common in children and adolescents and can pose diagnostic dilemmas or management difficulties. Given a child's development, ability to cope and differences in aetiology, it is important that dental practitioners are aware of the different management options available for children with common oral medicine conditions, and when it is appropriate to refer.

In this presentation, we plan to provide information on the correct, simple management options for common conditions, and a guideline of when and where to refer for more complex issues; ensuring paediatric patients receive the best possible care.
