About This Course

This recorded webinar will look at the effective use of skill-mix in primary dental care for Dental Therapists and Dental Hygienists.

This recorded webinar will introduce the free to access, on-demand training package to support Dental Therapists and Dental Hygienists working within the dental team, who decide to implement the contract skill-mix changes.

This training has been commissioned by W.T.E Yorkshire and Humber and will cover three main areas:

• Examination and assessment
• NHS regulations
• Opening and submitting a course of treatment

Aims

This course aims to provide learners with knowledge and understanding of the whole team approach to supporting dental therapists and dental hygienists working within the dental team and implementing the contract skill-mix changes. An overview of the available training package is given.

Objectives

• To be aware of the Dental Therapists and Dental Hygienists training package.
• To understand the whole team approach to Dental Therapists and Dental Hygienists working in this way within the dental team.
• To be able to access the training and consider next steps in terms of working within the dental team opening and submitting courses of NHS care.
