This is the third webinar in this series in collaboration with CGDent, which encompass an overview of Non-Surgical Facial Aesthetics, clinical cases for learners to develop an appreciation of the clinical aspects of the patient journey, as well as anatomy, and finally complications that can arise when delivering cosmetic injectables.

This webinar will give you an appreciation of the complications that occur in the immediate, short and long term post-delivery of cosmetic injectables and management strategies with a greater focus on vascular occlusions.

Learning Outcomes

Aims

This webinar will look at

  • The various complications that can occur after delivering cosmetic injectables
  • Understanding, identifying and managing a vascular occlusion including: Causes and implications; recognition of vascular occlusions; immediate management; preparing Hyaluronidase; Hyaluronidase protocol and reducing the risk of vascular occlusion.

Objectives

The Speakers

Louisa Sherlock

Louisa is dual qualified in dentistry and law.

Louisa practised as a dental surgeon for over a decade, both within the NHS and privately. As well as treating patients, she assisted with the running of a busy NHS practice and helped staff to prepare for CQC inspections.

In addition, Louisa completed the MJDF RCS (Eng) and aesthetic dentistry training courses, and developed a private practice involving cosmetic dentistry, invisible orthodontics and facial aesthetics.

Louisa is now a barrister at No5 Chambers having completed a law conversion course and the Bar Professional Training Course. She has received numerous awards, and now specialises in business and property law (focusing particularly on contractual and partnership disputes between dental and medical professionals) and clinical negligence. She also has substantial experience in advising and representing clients in employment tribunal hearings.

Founder and trainer at the RASA Academy

Dr. Jalpesh Patel completed his undergraduate training at King’s College London in 2010. He is an Aesthetic and Dental practitioner who is a member of the Joint Dental Faculties at the Royal College of Surgeons and has completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Skin Aging and Aesthetic Medicine at the University of Manchester, Jalpesh has also successfully completed a Masters in Aesthetic Dentistry, at King’s College London, graduating with Distinction. As a member of the Practitioner Register Committee of the Joint Council of Cosmetic Practitioners (JCCP) he has a strong commitment to improving the regulation and learning pathways within the facial aesthetic industry having felt that there has been a lack of formal guidelines and educational structure for those wanting to enter and practice in this field; hence the creation of the RASA Academy and the development of the Postgraduate Certificate in Non-Surgical Facial Aesthetics alongside the College of General Dentistry.
