P228 All Change?

Continuing our series of webinars ‘How Dental Practices Can Adapt, Survive and Thrive in Uncertain Times'

Join Pat Langley, Apolline’s Chief Executive, for this lunch and learn webinar, as she looks at what dental practice team members may be able to do if they are told to self-isolate as a result of having been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.

In the last few days there has been a great deal of confusion about who needs to do what and when if a dental practice team member is asked to self-isolate by NHS Test and Trace or by the NHS Covid app.

To add to the confusion, much has been made in the media of a ‘ping’ from the NHS Covid app being advisory whereas if you are contacted by NHS Test and Trace, it is a legal requirement to self-isolate.

Given that infection numbers are rising sharply again and the numbers of people being told to self-isolate are rocketing, it is more than likely that most practices will have a situation in which a team member is self-isolating because they’ve been in contact with someone who has tested positive. This may have the potential to cause harm to patients if their treatment is delayed.

Pat will look at the exceptional circumstances where a team member may be able to return to work before the end of their self-isolation period.

Pat will also explore what's changing as lockdown finishes and what can't change.
