Harriet Powell

Paediatric Specialty Dentist

Harriet is a Paediatric Specialty Dentist at Manchester Dental Hospital.

She graduated as a dental student from the University of Central Lancashire in 2015, following a Biosciences degree at the University of Nottingham. She holds a PG Cert in Medical Education, and is a member of the BSPD and IAPD.

Harriet has worked in a variety of dental roles from primary, community, secondary, to her present position in tertiary care. She has a keen interest in dental education, and teaches undergraduate and postgraduate students at the Dental School. Paediatric Dentistry is the line of work she hopes to specialise in, and her ultimate goal is to contribute to making paediatric dental healthcare more accessible in the South West.

During the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, Harriet was redeployed for 4 months to work as a junior doctor in A&E.  During this time she purchased a pet rabbit, Pickle, who is the inspiration behind an animated children’s health series she is developing called “Pickle’s Kitchen”, which aims to boost general and dental health outcomes for children through approachable digital engagement.
