Registered Specialist in Orthodontics
Peter qualified with honours from Bristol University in 1982. He worked in a series of junior hospital posts and general practice before gaining Fellowship in Dentistry in 1986, after which he entered the 3-year orthodontic training programme at the Royal London Hospital. He opened his own specialist practice in Solihull 10 days after completing his final year of study in 1989. He has been involved in formal teaching as a part-time lecturer at the Eastman (1996-8) and Royal London Hospitals (2000-2004), and subsequently as a guest lecturer to the universities of Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol and Warwick.
Peter lectures widely on adult orthodontics and its part in whole patient care, both nationally and internationally, whilst continuing his clinical work at his private practice, Orthodontic Excellence, where he has recently moved from Principal to Associate. Peter has used lingual and Invisalign appliances since 2002 and was a 3M Mentor for Incognito lingual appliances from 2011-15. He is a Diamond provider of Invisalign, a founding member of the UK group of The Invisible Orthodontist (TIO) and a member of the Align UK Orthodontists Advisory Board from 2012-21. In 2018 he was invited to be a Clinical Speaker for Invisalign UK. Peter is the Academic Officer for the Alpine Orthodontic Conference and the President of the Royal London Orthodontic Alumni Association.
