Regional Dental Officer in Tanzania
Dr. Nila Jackson is a doctor of dental surgery graduated from Muhimbili University in 2012 and now works in Mara region in Tanzania. Currently I hold a managerial position in the healthcare system as regional dental officer. My responsibility is to supervise and monitor improvement of dental services in the region. Following inadequate availability of dental services in Mara region whose population is 2.5 million people and manned by 10 dental personnel based at District's capital township, Dr. Nila cherished a determined leadership that have helped much to expand coverage and availability of oral health services in remote and rural communities through outreach programs in collaboration with B2A, Clinical Officers trained by B2A. Using experiences gained through outreach programs organized by B2A, Dr. Nila owned private dental clinics have also been conducting mobile and voluntary dental outreaches to rural communities and people with special needs in collaboration with Dr. Manny Vasant from UK. As a result to this, Tanzania dental association (TDA) awarded me a certificate of recognition for supporting oral health.
