Getting hands on as part of clinical procedures

Are you eager to be hands on, but don’t know where to start?

The General Dental Council (GDC) have outlined the additional fields of activity that registered dental nurses can undertake under the prescription of a dentist, or as part of a recognised structured programme- this is specific to the application of fluoride varnish.

Look closely at the quality of the course that you are considering undertaking before you hand over your hard earned money.

ASK: Who is running the course:

Their qualifications, their background, their success rates, level of support they provide both on and off the course, their quality assurance process, the resources they provide and utilise and if the course meets the GDC requirements.

Is the course you are considering robust and establishes both the acquisition of knowledge and the competence of clinical skills, do they offer up dates and encourage continual reflection for maintenance and improvement in practice?

Make good decisions when taking courses, you are responsible for the decisions you make.
