BioHorizons UK & Ireland General Manager Ken O'Brien on the relationship between the dentist and implant company.
Since I joined the corporate world of implant dentistry, the relationship between the dentist and implant company has gone from strength to strength. Open communication is encouraged and, in the UK, where dental implants have a poor penetration compared to Europe, companies have engaged with practices to help them grow, as well as offering practices invaluable training and business advice, when asked.
We pride ourselves on the customer experience and the fact our customers feel safe working with us. We try to maintain an open style of communication that allows us to ‘hear’ our customer and become part of a practice. I have many personal friendships within different practices now, and that is true for our entire UK team, which is a sure sign your relationships are on track.
BioHorizons has grown considerably since 1988, the year our Laser-Lok implant surface treatment came into being. It is the only surface treatment proven to attract a true, physical connective tissue attachment, and something that we are very proud to have created and move forward with.
We are now in over 90 markets globally and are part-owned by Henry Schein, which has been a great move for us. Not only that but we are also now in partnership with CAMLOG, an implant system that, like BioHorizons, is at the forefront of application and quality.
To me, this is the positioning of two premium systems under one umbrella, offering clinicians unrivalled choice. We are excited to share the possibilities with our customers in the coming weeks.’
Indeed, with the addition of CAMLOG products to the BioHorizons UK&Ireland portfolio, our reps can offer a wider range of treatment solutions than ever before, combined with unprecedented added value features such as access to The Implant Hub (www.theimplanthub.com) and business support.
With a team of Territory Managers located across the UK and Ireland, you can be sure that whatever you need is just a phone call away.
When you consider our combined reach and ethos, then I believe the future is very bright for BioHorizons, our partners and our all-important customers.
So with that in mind I would like to wish everyone a wonderful Christmas and New Year. I look forward to seeing you all in 2017!
