About This Course

Medical emergencies in general dental practice are thankfully a rare occurrence but they can occur at any time. This article looks at what is required from dental staff in an emergency and what should be in the emergency drug kit. The training of staff is also discussed, as well as the ABCDE of emergency management.

This course aims to provide learners with knowledge and understanding of the importance of medical risk assessment in dental practice. An overview of the required emergency drugs and the ABCDE steps, is given.
